List of Towns, Villages and Cities in Rutland County

Rutland, which used to be called Rutlandshire[3], is a ceremonial county in England’s East Midlands. In the south-west, Northamptonshire is right next to it, and in the north and west, it’s next to Leicestershire. The biggest town is Oakham.

It covers 382 km2 (147 sq mi) and has 41,049 people living in it. This makes it the second-smallest ceremonial county in terms of population, after the City of London.

The only towns in the county are Oakham (12,149) and Uppingham (4,745), both in the west. The village of Ketton (1,926) is the largest settlement in the east.

The county is made up of a single local government district, which is also known as Rutland.

In the past, the county was the smallest in England. The motto of the county council, “Multum in Parvo,” which means “much in little,” shows this.
