Bristol, which sounds like “breast-eel,” is an English city, ceremonial county, and unitary authority.

The ceremonial counties of Gloucestershire are to the north and Somerset is to the south. They are both on the River Avon.

There are a lot of people living there, and it’s the most populous city in South West England.[

The Bristol Built-up Area as a whole has the eleventh most people of any city or town in the UK.

About 106 miles (171 km) west of London is Bristol. It is 124 km (77 mi) south-southwest of Birmingham and 26 mi (42 km) east of Cardiff, the capital of Wales.

The areas next to the city are part of a broad area called Greater Bristol.

It is 11 miles (18 km) south-east of the city center to get to Bath. Weston-super-Mare is 18 miles (29 km) to the southwest, and Newport, Wales, is 19 miles (31 km) to the northwest.
