Ibeju/Lekki Towns And Villages
Ibeju-Lekki is a coastal local government area in Lagos State, on Nigeria’s Atlantic shoreline. It formed in 1990 out of the old Epe council and pairs two once-separate settlements, Ibeju and Lekki. The council headquarters sits at Igando-Oloja, moved there from Akodo after the Lekki Council Development Area was carved out in 2003.
The 2006 census counted 117,793 people here; the 2022 projection put the figure at 174,400. Ibeju-Lekki’s postal code is 105101. Executive Chairman Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa leads the local government as of 2026.

Ibeju-Lekki splits into two halves. The Ibeju side holds older fishing and farming villages along the coast road. The Lekki side has grown fast around the Lekki Free Trade Zone and the Dangote Refinery, pulling in new estates and workers.
Fishing, farming and small trade support the older villages. Land sales, construction and free-zone jobs now drive growth on the Lekki side.
