Yenegoa Towns And Villages
Yenegoa is a Local Government Area in Bayelsa State and the seat of the state government. It sits at 4°55′29″N 6°15′51″E, in the Niger Delta. The 2006 census counted 352,285 residents; a 2022 projection put the figure near 524,400, across roughly 706 square kilometres.
The LGA covers six Ijaw clans: Epie-Atissa, home to Yenagoa city itself, plus Gbarain, Ekpetiama, Biseni, Zarama and Okordia. Swali Market, in the city centre, is one of the busiest markets in Bayelsa State. Igbogene holds the state secretariat; Opolo and Kpansia are established residential districts. Hon. Bulodisiye Ndiwari chairs the local government council.
