Ekeremor Towns And Villages

Ekeremor is a Local Government Area in Bayelsa State, Nigeria. It fronts the Bight of Bonny along roughly 60 kilometres of coastline and borders Delta State to the west. Its headquarters sits at Ekeremor town, and the area covers about 1,810 square kilometres. The postal code is 561102.

The 2006 census counted 269,588 residents. The 2022 projection put the population near 401,300. Isaac Onniye serves as Executive Chairman. Ekeremor holds twelve wards under four traditional districts: Tarakiri, Oyiakiri, Oporomor and Eduwini.

Ijaw communities work the creeks here, many reachable only by boat. Settlement names often carry the Izon suffix “-gbene” (camp) or end in “ama” (town).
