Bwari Towns And Villages
Bwari is one of six area councils in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, Nigeria, in the FCT’s northern reaches near the Kaduna State boundary. Its headquarters sits at Bwari town, near 9°16′48″N 7°22′50″E. The area covers about 1,031 square kilometres.
The 2006 census counted 229,274 residents. Projections put the 2022 figure near 500,100. Bwari holds ten wards: Bwari Central, Byazhin, Dutse Alhaji, Igu, Kawu, Kubwa, Kuduru, Shere, Ushafa and Usuma.
The Gbagyi (Gwari) people are the area’s original inhabitants; Hausa and Koro communities also live across its towns, alongside the fast-growing satellite settlements of Kubwa, Dutse Alhaji and Mpape.
