Daura Towns And Villages
Daura LGA sits in Katsina State’s far north, on the belt bordering Niger Republic. Daura town, its headquarters, is one of the seven original Hausa city-states (Hausa Bakwai) and a seat of the Daura Emirate. The 2006 census put the LGA’s population at 224,884, projected to 401,900 by 2022.
The LGA covers 11 wards – seven built from Daura town’s own walled quarters (Sarkin Yara A and B, Ubandawaki A and B, Kusugu, Tudun Wada, Sabon Gari) and four covering the rural fringe (Mazoji A and B, Madobi A and B).
Names below are checked against the INEC 2015 polling-unit directory, the GRID3 national settlement layer and the GeoNames gazetteer. The old list ran only 29 names, several badly garbled (one entry spliced two unrelated quarters together); 17 town quarters and rural hamlets confirmed by at least two independent sources were added.
