Tanjil

It is one of 37 counties in Victoria that make up the cadastral divisions of Australia, which are used for land titles.

The county name is Tanjil, which is sometimes spelt Tangil.

The area along the coast near the Gippsland Lakes is part of it. The Mitchell River marks the northern border.

In the years before the 1860s, the land was in both Bruce County and Haddington County.
