Indaka Local Municipality was a local municipality in KwaZulu-Natal’s uThukela District until August 2016, when it merged with Emnambithi/Ladysmith Local Municipality to form Alfred Duma Local Municipality.
It covered rural land west of Ladysmith, with settlements including Ekuvukeni, Waay Hoek, Mchunu and Limehill. The area had no large town of its own; residents relied on Ladysmith, in the neighbouring Emnambithi area, for shopping and services.
These towns and villages are now profiled under Alfred Duma Local Municipality, the current municipal authority for the area.
