The U.S. county of Bacon County is in the southeast corner of the state of Georgia.

As of the census in 2020, there were 11,140 people living there.

Alma is the county seat.

The proposal to change the constitution to make the county was made on July 7, 1914, and it was approved on November 3, 1914.

It is named after Augustus Bacon, a segregationist from Georgia who used to be a senator in the United States.

The U.S. Census Bureau says that the county has a total area of 286 square miles (740 km2), of which 259 square miles (670 km2) are land and 27 square miles (70 km2) (9.5%) are water.
