Morogoro Region (or Mkoa wa Morogoro in Swahili) is one of Tanzania’s 31 administrative regions.
The region has an area of 70,624 km2 (27,268 square miles).
The region is roughly the same size as Ireland’s whole land area.
Morogoro Region is bounded to the north by the Manyara and Tanga Regions, to the east by the Pwani and Lindi Regions, to the south by the Ruvuma Region, and to the west by the Iringa Njombe and Dodoma Regions.
The municipality of Morogoro serves as the regional capital. According to the 2022 national census, the region’s population was 3,197,104.
