Mjini Magharibi Region, also known as Zanzibar Urban West Region or West Zanzibar Region (Swahili: Mkoa wa Mjini Magharibi), is one of Tanzania’s 31 regions.
The region has an area of 230 km2 (89 square miles).
The region is fully on the island of Zanzibar, bounded to the west by the Indian Ocean, north by Unguja North Region, and east by Unguja South Region.
The region is home to one of Tanzania’s seven World Heritage Sites, Stonetown of Zanzibar.
The regional capital is Zanzibar City.
The region is Tanzania’s most developed, with a human development index of 0.718.
According to the 2012 census, the region’s total population is 593,678.
