Mbeya Region (or Mkoa wa Mbeya in Swahili) is one of Tanzania’s 31 administrative regions.
The region has an area of 35,954 km2 (13,882 sq mi).
The region is roughly the same size as Guinea Bissau’s whole land area.
Mbeya Region is bordered on the east by Singida, Iringa, and Njombe regions. Malawi and Lake Nyasa form the region’s southern border.
To the north, the territory borders the southern Tabora territory. Finally, Mbeya is bordered on the west by Songwe Region.
The regional capital is the city of Mbeya. According to the 2022 national census, the region’s population was 2,343,754.
