The Iringa Region (Mkoa wa Iringa in Swahili) is one of Tanzania’s 31 administrative regions. The region has an area of 35,503 km2 (13,708 square miles).
The region is roughly the same size as Guinea Bissau’s whole land area.
Morogoro Region borders Iringa Region on the east, while Njombe Region borders it on the south. The Mbeya Region borders the region to the west.
Dodoma and Singida Regions share a northern border with Iringa. The regional capital is the city of Iringa, after which the city was called.
According to the 2022 census, the region’s total population is 1,192,728. The Iringa Region is home to Ruaha National Park, Tanzania’s second-largest park.

Iringa Region is divided into three districts (Iringa, Kilolo and Mufindi), each administered by a council.
