Dodoma Region

Dodoma Region (or Mkoa wa Dodoma in Swahili) is one of Tanzania’s 31 administrative regions. The regional capital is the city of Dodoma.

Dodoma is located in central Tanzania, bordering the Singida area to the west, Manyara region to the north, Iringa region to the south, and Morogoro region to the east.

The region’s population was 3,085,625 according to the 2022 national census, up from 2,083,588 in 2012.

The Dodoma region is divided into seven districts, each controlled by a council [21] (Kondoa, Chemba, Bahi, Dodoma, Chamwino, Kongwa, and Mpwapwa), eight local government agencies, 29 divisions, 209 wards, 607 villages, 181 streets, and 2,184 hamlets. Other districts have a council, but Kondoa has both a town council and a district council.
