Towns and Villages in Mareko Special Woreda

Mareko Special Woreda (Amharic: ማረቆ ልዩ ወረዳ) is part of the Central Ethiopia Regional State.

This woreda was called after the Mareko people. The administrative headquarters of this special woreda is Koshe.

According to the CSA’s 2007 Census, this woreda has a total population of 64,512, with 32,730 men and 31,782 women; 6,880 people, or 10.67%, live in cities.

The majority of the population identified as Muslim (84.02%), with 7.98% practicing Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity and 7.41% as Protestants.
