Towns and Villages in Wag Hemra Zone

Wag Hemra (Amharic: ዋግ ኽምራ) is a Zone in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia.

Its name is derived from the ancient province of Wag and the dominant local ethnic group, the Kamyr (or “Hemra”) Agaw.

According to the Central Statistical Agency of Ethiopia’s (CSA) 2007 Census, this Zone has a total population of 426,213, up 54.64% from the 1994 census, with 213,845 males and 212,368 women.
