Akoko-Edo Towns And Villages
Akoko-Edo is a Local Government Area in Edo State, Nigeria, in the state’s rocky far north. Its headquarters sits at Igarra, roughly 130 kilometres north of Benin City. The LGA covers about 1,371 square kilometres and borders Kogi and Kwara states to the north and Ondo State to the west.
The 2006 census counted 261,567 residents. Projections put the 2022 figure near 386,400. Igarra’s postal code is 312115. Okpameri, Uneme, Ikiran, Ososo and other Edoid- and Yoruba-speaking communities share the LGA’s ten wards, among them Igarra I, Igarra II, Ososo and Somorika.
