Ahiazu Mbaise Towns And Villages
Ahiazu Mbaise is a Local Government Area in Imo State, Nigeria, formed by the 1976 merger of the neighbouring towns of Ahiara and Ekwerazu. Its headquarters sits at Afor-Oru, at coordinates 5°33′45″N 7°15′40″E. The area covers about 114 square kilometres.
The 2006 census counted 170,824 residents. A 2022 projection put the figure near 237,400. Ahiazu Mbaise holds 12 wards: Ogbe, Otulu/Aguneze, Oru-Na-Lude, Nnarambia, Okirika Nwenkwo, Amuzi/Ihenworie, Okirika Nweke, Obohia/Ekwereazu, Mpam, Oparanadim, Umunumo/Umuchieze and Ogbor/Umueze.
The list below was checked name by name against the 2015 INEC ward and polling-unit directory, the GRID3 Nigeria settlement dataset and GeoNames. A large share of the LGA’s former list had been mixed up with settlements belonging to neighbouring Ohaji/Egbema; those names have been removed.
