Ukanafun Towns And Villages

Ukanafun is a Local Government Area in the southwest of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Its council headquarters sits at Ikot Akpa Nkuk. The area borders Etim Ekpo and Oruk Anam LGAs and reaches toward the Cross River State boundary.

The 2006 census counted 125,473 residents. A 2022 projection put the figure near 160,100. Postal codes across the LGA run from 533101 to 533104, one for each of its four historic districts: Southern Ukanafun, Northern Ukanafun, Southern Afaha and Northern Afaha.

Annang is the majority language and ethnic group, and most residents are Christian. Farming carries the local economy, with oil palm and plantain the main crops, alongside trade, wood carving and craft work.
