Yankwashi Towns And Villages
Yankwashi is a local government area in Jigawa State, Nigeria, in the state’s far north near the Katsina State border. Its headquarters sits at Karkarna, and it shares boundaries with Kazaure, Gwiwa and Roni within Jigawa.
The 2006 census recorded a population of 95,643. A 2022 projection puts the figure near 164,500. Yankwashi covers about 371 square kilometres (143 sq mi), spread across ten wards: Achilafiya, Belas, Dawan Gawo, Gwarta, Gurjiya, Karkarna, Kuda, Ringim, Yankwashi and Zungumba.
The list below was checked name by name against the 2015 INEC ward and polling-unit records for Yankwashi, cross-checked with the GRID3 national settlement layer and GeoNames. Eight names on the old list turned out to belong to neighbouring Kazaure LGA and have been removed.
