Ohaozara Towns And Villages
Ohaozara is a Local Government Area in Ebonyi State, in Nigeria’s south-east. Its headquarters sits at Uburu, alongside Okposi and Ugwulangwu, the LGA’s other two core towns.
The 2006 census counted 148,317 residents. Projections put the 2022 figure near 220,900. The LGA covers about 312 square kilometres, with postal codes running 491101 to 491103.
Uburu is known for its salt lake, worked by local salt-boilers for generations. Okposi and Ugwulangwu farm yam, cassava, rice and maize across Ohaozara’s hinterland.
The list below was checked against GRID3 settlement data, GeoNames, INEC ward records and independent local reporting. Several “Akaeze” and “Ishiagu” entries on the previous list were dropped after they proved to belong to neighbouring Ivo LGA, not Ohaozara.
