Walworth County is a county in Wisconsin, United States, in the southeastern part of the state along the Illinois border. It had a population of 106,478 at the 2020 census and covers 577 square miles (1,490 km2), including 555 square miles of land and 21 square miles of water, centred near 42\u00b040\u2032N 88\u00b032\u2032W.<\/p>\n

Elkhorn is the county seat, and its postal code is 53121. The county contains 4 cities, 7 villages and 16 towns (Wisconsin’s term for civil townships), plus a number of unincorporated lake communities. Walworth County observes Central time and carries FIPS code 55127.<\/p>\n

The city of Whitewater straddles the Walworth–Jefferson county line, with most of its population and its downtown on the Walworth County side. The village of Genoa City similarly straddles the Walworth–Kenosha county line. Note that Wisconsin’s separately incorporated Village of Bloomfield is in neighboring Kenosha County and is unrelated to Walworth County’s own Town of Bloomfield, home to the unincorporated lake communities of Pell Lake, Powers Lake and North Bloomfield.<\/p>\n
