Odanah and New Odanah sit on the Bad River Band of the Lake Superior Tribe of Chippewa Indians’ reservation, which overlaps the northeastern part of the county; the reservation is not itself a civil township. La Pointe, on Madeline Island in the Apostle Islands, is reachable only by ferry or, in winter, an ice road.<\/p>\n
