York County is a county in Virginia, United States, on the Virginia Peninsula in the Tidewater region, with the York River forming its northern border. It had a population of 70,045 at the 2020 census and covers 215 square miles (560 km2) — 105 square miles of land and 110 square miles of water — centred near 37°13′N 76°26′W.<\/p>\n

Yorktown, never formally incorporated as a town, is the county seat, and its postal code is 23690. York County has no incorporated cities or towns of its own — its population lives across a set of unincorporated communities and two census-designated places (Yorktown and Bethel Manor). The county sits in the Eastern time zone.<\/p>\n
