Weber County is a county in Utah, United States, about 40 miles north of Salt Lake City along the Wasatch Front. It had a population of 262,223 at the 2020 census, an estimated 269,648 by 2024, and covers 576 square miles (1,492 km2) centred near 41\u00b018\u2032N 111\u00b055\u2032W. Locals say the name WEE-ber, after fur trapper John Henry Weber — not like the grill brand.<\/p>\n

Ogden is the county seat and largest city; its postal code is 84401. The county holds 14 cities, 1 incorporated town and 3 unincorporated Ogden Valley communities. Utah abolished civil townships statewide, so local government here starts and stops at the city line, and Weber County runs on Mountain Time. Its FIPS code is 49057.<\/p>\n

Two pairs cause real confusion. North Ogden, South Ogden and Ogden itself are three separate cities, each with its own government and mayor — none is a neighborhood of another. And Uintah city, a small municipality at the mouth of Weber Canyon, is unrelated to Uintah County, a much larger county in eastern Utah; the name comes from the same Ute band in both cases, which is where the overlap ends. Marriott-Slaterville has no ZIP of its own — mail addressed there routes through Ogden’s 84404.<\/p>\n
