Washington County is a county in Utah, United States, in the southwestern corner of the state, about 118 miles northeast of Las Vegas. It had a population of 180,279 at the 2020 census, an estimated 213,670 by 2025, and covers 2,426 square miles (6,280 km2) centred near 37\u00b017\u2032N 113\u00b031\u2032W.<\/p>\n

St. George is the county seat and by far the largest city; its postal code is 84770. The county holds 9 cities, 6 incorporated towns and roughly a dozen unincorporated communities. Apple Valley shares Hurricane’s 84737 ZIP rather than running its own post office, despite being incorporated separately, 12 miles east of Hurricane along State Route 59. Virgin shares Springdale’s 84779 code. Silver Reef, once a silver-mining boomtown of about 2,000 people, is today absorbed into Leeds and counted in Leeds’s population; it has no residents of its own left to count.
