Emery County is a county in Utah, United States, in the east-central part of the state, drained by the San Rafael River and crossed by the San Rafael Swell. It had a population of 9,825 at the 2020 census and covers 4,472 square miles (11,580 km2), of which 4,462 square miles is land, centred near 38\u00b059\u2032N 110\u00b041\u2032W.<\/p>\n

Castle Dale is the county seat, and its postal code is 84513. The county has five incorporated cities, four incorporated towns, and several unincorporated communities, all in the Mountain time zone (UTC−7, UTC−6 during daylight saving). The FIPS code is 49015.<\/p>\n

Huntington is the county’s largest city; Castle Dale, three miles north, is the seat. Lawrence sits just east of Ferron and Molen and Moore lie a few miles apart on the road between Emery and Castle Dale — all three are unincorporated crossroads rather than platted towns. Woodside, on the Green River south of the city of Green River, is a near-abandoned former railroad stop kept on maps for its historic stage-station site.<\/p>\n
