Lipscomb County is a county in Texas, United States, on the Oklahoma border at the northeastern corner of the Texas Panhandle. It had a population of 3,059 at the 2020 census and covers 932 square miles (2,410 km2) centred near 36\u00b017\u2032N 100\u00b016\u2032W, nearly all of it dry land.<\/p>\n

Lipscomb is the county seat and its postal code is 79056. The county has four incorporated towns, one county-seat community, and several small rural settlements, all in the Central time zone.<\/p>\n

Booker is Lipscomb County’s largest town, but part of its townsite lies over the line in neighboring Ochiltree County to the west — the population above is for the Lipscomb County portion. Barton Corners, Coburn, Gaylord, Locust Grove, Magoun, Sherlock, and Twin Grove are small rural crossroads and former post-office communities with no current incorporated status, a common pattern across the sparsely settled Panhandle.<\/p>\n
