Collin County is a county in Texas, United States, on the northern edge of the Dallas–Fort
\nWorth metroplex, about 25 miles north of downtown Dallas. It had a population of 1,064,465 at the
\n2020 census, an estimated 1,297,179 by 2025, and covers 886 square miles (2,290 km2) centred near
\n33°11′N 96°35′W.<\/p>\n

McKinney is the county seat; its postal code is 75069. The county holds two dozen incorporated
\ncities and towns — several of them shared with neighbouring counties — two census
\ndesignated places, and roughly thirty smaller unincorporated communities, and it runs on Central
\nTime. Collin was one of the fastest-growing counties in the United States through the 2020s,
\nadding new suburbs across its rural northern half.<\/p>\n

Carrollton, Richardson, Garland and Dallas each hold only a small annexed sliver of Collin
\nCounty near its southern edge; those slivers carry little or no year-round population, so no
\ncounty-specific figure is published for them. Copeville, an unincorporated community, is the one
\nplace in the county with a ZIP code of its own (75121) that has no municipal government —
\nmost of the smaller communities below share a neighbouring city’s ZIP or have none at all.
\nRural crossroads such as Altoga, Frognot and Chambersville have no incorporated government and no
\npublished 2020 population separate from the surrounding county figure.<\/p>\n

The remaining named places are unincorporated communities and rural crossroads, most predating
\nthe county’s modern suburbs: Altoga, Arnold, Beverly Hill, Bloomdale, Branch, Chambersville,
\nChambliss, Clear Lake, Climax, Collin, Copeville, Cowley, Culleoka, Desert, Fayburg, Forest Grove,
