Perkins County is a county in South Dakota, United States, tucked into the state’s far northwest corner along the North Dakota line. It had a population of 2,835 at the 2020 census and covers 2,891 square miles (7,490 km2), centred near 45°30′N 102°29′W.<\/p>\n

Bison is the county seat, and its postal code is 57620. The county holds one city, one town, and about 15 unincorporated communities. Perkins County runs on Mountain Time, in keeping with the rest of South Dakota’s “West River” country.<\/p>\n
