Barnwell County is a county in South Carolina, United States, along the Savannah River basin in the south-central part of the state. It had a population of 20,589 at the 2020 census and covers 557 square miles (1,443 km2) centred near 33°16′N 81°26′W.<\/p>\n

Barnwell is the county seat, and its postal code is 29812. The county has one city, five towns, and more than a dozen unincorporated communities. Barnwell County observes Eastern Time and carries FIPS code 45011.<\/p>\n
