Pike County is a county in Pennsylvania, United States, forming the state’s northeastern corner along the upper Delaware River. It had a population of 58,535 at the 2020 census and covers 567 square miles (1,469 km2), of which 545 square miles (1,411 km2) is land, centred near 41°20′N 75°02′W.<\/p>\n

Milford is the county seat, and its postal code is 18337. Pike County has 2 boroughs, 11 townships and dozens of unincorporated lake and river communities, most of them second-home developments. The county lies in the Eastern time zone and carries FIPS code 42103.<\/p>\n

Towns & Villages in Pike County<\/h2>\n

Pike County has only two incorporated municipalities — Milford and Matamoras — both boroughs. Everywhere else is one of 11 townships, and within those townships dozens of named unincorporated places, hamlets and private lake-resort communities carry their own long-standing local names even though they have no separate government. “CDP” below marks a U.S. Census Bureau-recognised community; “Unincorp.” marks a named locality with no CDP boundary of its own.<\/p>\n

Several names above are private, gated lake-resort subdivisions rather than open villages — Hemlock Farms, Saw Creek, Sunrise Lake, Birchwood Lakes, Conashaugh Lakes and the various Pocono\/Wallenpaupack “lake estate” developments among them — a distinctive feature of Pike County’s settlement pattern since the 1960s and 70s. “Pocono Mountain Lake Estates” appeared twice in the county’s old listing and is combined into one entry here.<\/p>\n

Note that Delaware Township and Dingman Township are two separate townships despite the similar names — the Dingmans Ferry community itself straddles the boundary between them.<\/p>\n
