McKenzie County is a county in North Dakota, United States, the largest county in the state by land area. It had a population of 14,704 at the 2020 census and covers 2,860.6 square miles (7,408.8 km2) centred near 47°44′33″N 103°24′12″W.<\/p>\n

Watford City is the county seat, and its postal code is 58854. The county has three incorporated cities, three census-designated places, and 16 organized townships. McKenzie County straddles two time zones — Central in the north, Mountain in the south — and its FIPS code is 38053.<\/p>\n
