Rowan County is a county in North Carolina, United States, on the Yadkin River between Charlotte and Winston-Salem. It had a population of 146,875 at the 2020 census and covers 524 square miles (1,357 km2), of which about 12 square miles are water, centred near 35\u00b037\u2032N 80\u00b032\u2032W.<\/p>\n

Salisbury is the county seat, and its postal code is 28144. The county has 11 incorporated cities and towns plus a handful of unincorporated communities, is part of the Charlotte–Concord–Gastonia, NC–SC metropolitan area, and sits in the Eastern time zone. Its FIPS code is 37159.<\/p>\n
