Bertie County is a county in North Carolina, United States, on the Albemarle Sound’s inner peninsula between the Chowan and Roanoke rivers. It had a population of 17,934 at the 2020 census and covers 741.31 square miles (1,920.0 km2), of which 699.18 square miles (1,810.9 km2) is land, centred near 36\u00b004\u2032N 76\u00b058\u2032W.<\/p>\n

Windsor is the county seat; its postal code is 27983. The county has 7 incorporated towns, nine civil townships and a scatter of unincorporated communities and crossroads settlements. Bertie County observes Eastern Time and carries FIPS code 37015.<\/p>\n
