Tioga County is a county in New York, United States, on the Pennsylvania border in the state’s Southern Tier. It had a population of 48,455 at the 2020 census and covers 523 square miles (1,350 km2), of which 519 square miles (1,340 km2) is land, centred near 42\u00b010\u2032N 76\u00b018\u2032W.<\/p>\n

Waverly straddles two towns — Barton and Tioga — and its built-up area also runs into Chemung County next door, so the village line and the county line don’t match exactly. Owego and Owego Heights are two separate places despite the name overlap: Owego is the incorporated village and county seat, Owego Heights an unincorporated area outside the village line east of it.<\/p>\n
