Luna County is a county in New Mexico, United States, on the international border with Mexico. It had a population of 25,427 at the 2020 census and covers 2,965 square miles (7,680 km2) centred near 32\u00b011\u2032N 107\u00b045\u2032W.<\/p>\n
Deming is the county seat, and its postal code is 88030. The county has one city, one village, nine census-designated places and more than a dozen smaller unincorporated communities and ghost towns. Luna County runs on Mountain Time and carries FIPS code 35029.<\/p>\n
Luna County has 22 named places on record, from the county seat down to rail-siding hamlets that never grew past a depot and a store. Only Deming is an incorporated city; Columbus is New Mexico’s smallest incorporated village.
