Carroll County is a county in New Hampshire, United States, on the Maine border in the eastern part of the state. It had a population of 50,107 at the 2020 census and covers 992 square miles (2,570 km2), of which 61.6 square miles (160 km2) is water, centred near 43°54′N 71°10′W.<\/p>\n

Ossipee is the county seat, and its postal code is 03864. The county holds 18 incorporated towns plus a number of unincorporated villages and hamlets grouped inside them — New Hampshire has no separate county-level cities or civil townships, so every named place below is a village, section, or post-office name within one of the 18 towns. Two names are easy to confuse: North Conway is the well-known village center inside the town of Conway, not a separate municipality, and the same is true of North Sandwich and East Sandwich inside Sandwich. Livermore, on the Bartlett\/Grafton County line, is a former logging-railroad settlement now entirely abandoned and unpopulated.
