Rock County is a county in Nebraska, United States, part of the Sandhills region often called Nebraska’s Outback for its remoteness. It had a population of 1,262 at the 2020 census and covers 1,011.7 square miles (2,620 km2), of which 1,008.3 square miles (2,610 km2) is land and 3.4 square miles (8.8 km2) is water, centred near 42\u00b024\u2032N 99\u00b025\u2032W.<\/p>\n

Bassett is the county seat, and its postal code is 68714. The county has one city, one village and several unincorporated communities. Rock County observes Central Time and lies along U.S. Routes 20 and 183.<\/p>\n
