Garnet, above Bear Gulch, is one of Montana’s best-preserved silver-mining ghost towns and a state-managed historic site; Granite, the county’s namesake camp on Granite Mountain, once held a mine that produced tens of millions in silver before the 1893 crash.<\/p>\n
