Clay County is a county in Mississippi, United States, part of the Golden Triangle region in the east-central part of the state. It had a population of 18,636 at the 2020 census and covers 416 square miles (1,080 km2), of which 410 square miles are land and 5.9 square miles are water, centred near 33\u00b039\u2032N 88\u00b046\u2032W.<\/p>\n

West Point is the county seat, and its postal code is 39773. The county has one incorporated city, one census-designated place, and several unincorporated communities. Clay County sits in the Central time zone.<\/p>\n
