Murray County is a county in Minnesota, United States, straddling the Buffalo Ridge upland along the Mississippi–Missouri watershed divide near Chandler. It had a population of 8,179 at the 2020 census and covers 720 square miles (1,865 km2), of which 705 square miles (1,826 km2) is land, centred near 44°01′N 95°46′W.<\/p>\n

Slayton is the county seat, and its postal code is 56172. The county has nine incorporated cities, one census-designated place (The Lakes), five unincorporated communities, and 20 civil townships. Murray County is in the Central time zone.<\/p>\n
