Houston County is a county in Minnesota, United States, at the state’s southeast corner where the bluffs of the Mississippi River meet the Iowa and Wisconsin lines. It had a population of 18,843 at the 2020 census and covers 569 square miles (1,470 km2) — 552 square miles (1,430 km2) of land and 17 square miles (44 km2) of water — centred near 43°40′N 91°29′W.<\/p>\n

Caledonia is the county seat, and its postal code is 55921. The county has seven incorporated cities, 15 townships, and a scatter of unincorporated communities, all in the Central time zone. Houston County’s FIPS code is 27055.<\/p>\n
