Chippewa County is a county in Minnesota, United States, on the prairie where the Minnesota and Chippewa rivers meet, in the west-central part of the state. It had a population of 12,598 at the 2020 census and covers 588 square miles (1,522 km2), of which 581 square miles (1,505 km2) is land, centred near 45°02′N 95°34′W.<\/p>\n

Montevideo is the county seat, and its postal code is 56265. The county has six incorporated cities, nine unincorporated communities and sixteen civil townships. Chippewa County sits in the Central time zone.<\/p>\n
