Van Buren County is a county in Michigan, United States, on the shore of Lake Michigan roughly midway between Kalamazoo and the Indiana border. It had a population of 75,587 at the 2020 census and covers 1,090 square miles (2,800 km2), including 607 square miles (1,570 km2) of land, centred near 42°16′N 86°19′W.<\/p>\n

South Haven is split between Van Buren and Allegan counties, with most of the city proper on the Van Buren side of the Black River. Sister Lakes, an unincorporated lake resort community, straddles the Van Buren–Cass county line and is served from both Hamilton and Keeler townships.<\/p>\n
