Sanilac County is a county in Michigan, United States, occupying the outer edge of the state’s Thumb region on Lake Huron. It had a population of 40,611 at the 2020 census and covers 963 square miles (2,490 km2) of land plus 627 square miles (1,620 km2) of Lake Huron water, centred near 43\u00b028\u2032N 82\u00b038\u2032W.<\/p>\n
