Berrien County is a county in Michigan, United States, on the shore of Lake Michigan in the south-westernmost corner of the state. It had a population of 154,316 at the 2020 census and covers 1,581 square miles (4,090 km2), of which 568 square miles (1,470 km2) is land and the rest is Lake Michigan water, centred near 41°56′N 86°35′W.<\/p>\n

St. Joseph is the county seat and its postal code is 49085. The county has eight cities, nine villages and more than a dozen unincorporated communities spread across 22 townships. It sits in the Eastern time zone and is anchored on the west by nearly 20 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline.<\/p>\n
