Towns & Villages in Anne Arundel County<\/h2>\n

Anne Arundel County has almost no incorporated municipalities: only Annapolis and the small town of Highland Beach run their own local governments. Everywhere else — Glen Burnie, Severn, Odenton and dozens of other named places most residents would call a “town” — is legally an unincorporated census-designated place (CDP) inside the county government’s jurisdiction. Jessup straddles the Anne Arundel–Howard county line; its 10,535 residents and 20794 ZIP code are split between the two counties, with the larger share on the Howard side. Maryland City, Fort Meade and Odenton all sit around the Fort George G. Meade Army post and their boundaries overlap in local usage more than the Census Bureau’s CDP lines suggest.<\/p>\n
