Ford County is a county in Kansas, United States, in the southwestern part of the state along the Arkansas River. It had a population of 34,287 at the 2020 census and covers 1,098 square miles (2,840 km2) centred near 37°42′N 99°54′W.<\/p>\n

Fort Dodge, a former U.S. Army post east of Dodge City, is easily confused with the county seat itself — the fort predates the city and today survives as the Kansas Soldiers’ Home grounds, not a separate town.<\/p>\n
